Mülakat komitesindeki profesörlerin ve doçentlerin karşısına çıktığınız ilk an mülakatın kalan kısmının tonunu belirler.
"Good morning / Good afternoon, Professor. Thank you for welcoming me today. It is a great honor to be interviewed by the faculty committee."
Olası Soru: "What is the most important quality of a good doctor?"
"In my opinion, the most important quality is empathy combined with strong communication skills. A good doctor must not only treat the disease but also understand and care for the patient as a human being. Additionally, lifelong learning is essential to keep up with scientific advancements."
"Could you please repeat the question, Professor? I want to make sure I understand it perfectly."
· Böyle bir an yaşandığında paniğe kapılıp susmak yerine, yukarıda çalıştığımız joker cümleyi gülümseyerek söyleyin: "I am a bit excited, let me rephrase that please." (Biraz heyecanlıyım, lütfen yeniden ifade etmeme izin verin). Bu, jüriye sizin stres altında bile durumu yönetebilen, soğukkanlı bir lider karakterine sahip olduğunuzu kanıtlar.
6. Mülakattan 15 Dakika Önce: Güç Duruşu (Power Posing)
· Mülakata girmeden hemen önce, ellerinizi belinize koyup (Superman duruşu) veya kollarınızı yukarı kaldırıp 2 dakika boyunca derin nefesler alın. Sosyal psikoloji araştırmaları, bu duruşun vücuttaki testosteron (güven) hormonunu artırırken, stres hormonlarını hızla düşürdüğünü kanıtlamıştır.
JÜRİNİN EN SEVDİĞİ KAPANIŞ CÜMLESİ
Genelde mülakat jürilerinin en sevdiği kapanış hamlesi, adaylara yönelttikleri şu sorudur:"Do you have any questions for us?"
"What kind of research opportunities or student projects are available for international medical students at your faculty?"
Seçenek 2: Adaptasyon ve Başarı Odaklı
Okula başladığınız ilk andan itibaren başarılı olmayı hedeflediğinizi jüriye hissettirir.
"In your experience, what is the most important quality for a first-year medical student to be successful in your curriculum?"
Seçenek 3: Klinik Deneyim ve Pratik Odaklı
Belgrad Tıp Fakültesi'nin pratik eğitime ve klinik rotasyonlara verdiği önemi bildiğinizi gösterir.
"How early do international students start gaining direct clinical experience or hospital exposure in your program?"
"Thank you very much for your time and for this opportunity. It was a pleasure talking to you. Have a great day!"

QUESTION
"Welcome to the Belgrade Faculty of Medicine interview. We are glad to have you here today. To start our conversation, could you please introduce yourself briefly and tell us why you chose medicine as your future career?"
"Thank you for having me. My name is [Adın], and I am [Yaşın] years old from Turkey. For me, pursuing medicine is the ultimate intersection of science and human empathy. Growing up, I was always deeply fascinated by human biology, but my real turning point was witnessing how dedicated physicians helped a close family member recover from a serious illness. That experience taught me that medicine is not just a profession, but a lifelong commitment to restoring hope and relieving suffering. I want to become a compassionate doctor who makes a tangible difference in people's lives, and I believe that the rich academic tradition here at the Belgrade Faculty of Medicine is the perfect place for me to start this journey."
QUESTION
"Thank you, that is a very inspiring motivation. Since you are coming from Turkey, studying in Belgrade means living abroad in a different culture. Why did you specifically choose the University of Belgrade, and how do you feel about adapting to life here?"
I specifically chose the University of Belgrade because of its century-long prestige in medical education and its strong international reputation. The fact that your degree is globally recognized, combined with high-quality clinical training, makes it the ideal environment for my medical journey. Regarding adaptation, I see living in Belgrade as an exciting opportunity rather than a challenge. Turkey and Serbia share many historical and cultural similarities, from hospitality to daily traditions, which I believe will make my transition much smoother. I am very eager to learn the Serbian language, discover the rich culture of Belgrade, and study alongside students from all over the world."
QUESTION
"Why do you want to study medicine?"
Option A
"I want to study medicine because it is the most meaningful way for me to combine my fascination with human biology and my deep desire to help people. Medicine is not just a career; it is a lifelong commitment to relieving suffering, solving complex health challenges, and making a positive impact on individual lives and the community. I am driven by the continuous need to learn, adapt, and apply scientific knowledge where it matters most, and I believe studying at an international faculty like this will provide me with the strong foundation I need to become a compassionate and competent physician."
Option B
"For me, the decision to pursue medicine stems from a mix of personal experience and intellectual curiosity. Growing up, I witnessed how medical professionals saved a close family member's life, which left a profound impact on me. I realized that a doctor’s work is the ultimate intersection of advanced science and human empathy. I want to study medicine to be the person who offers hope and healing to families during their most vulnerable moments, utilizing the rigorous clinical skills I hope to acquire here."
QUESTION
"Why do you want to study at Belgrade Medical Faculty?"
"Belgrade University has a prestigious, century-long history in medical education and research. Studying here offers high-quality clinical training and a globally recognized degree. Additionally, Belgrade is a vibrant, multicultural city, and studying in an international environment will broaden my perspective, helping me become a more adaptable global doctor."
QUESTION
"What qualities do you have that will make you a good doctor?"
"I believe my strongest qualities are resilience, active listening, and empathy. Medical school requires intense discipline and emotional strength, both of which I have developed through my academic journey. Furthermore, I truly listen to people, which is crucial for accurate diagnosis and building trust with patients."
QUESTION
"How do you handle stress and pressure?"
"I handle stress by staying organized and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. When pressure builds, I prioritize tasks, break them into manageable steps, and focus on one thing at a time. Outside of studying, I do sports and listen to music to clear my mind and recharge my energy."
QUESTION
"Which medical specialty are you interested in pursuing in the future?"
A. Surgery
"Right now, I am very fascinated by general surgery. I like the idea of dynamic, hands-on work where I can see the immediate, life-saving results of an operation. However, I know that medical school will expose me to many different fields. I want to keep an open mind and let my clinical rotations in Belgrade shape my ultimate decision."
B. Pediatrics
"I am highly interested in pediatrics. Helping children and supporting them from an early age is incredibly rewarding for me. Pediatrics requires not only medical knowledge but also exceptional communication skills with both children and their families. While this is my current passion, I look forward to exploring all specialties during my medical education."
C. Cardiology
"I have a strong interest in cardiology because cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading health challenges globally. I am fascinated by the complex physiology of the heart and the combination of long-term patient care with critical interventions. That being said, I am excited to experience every department before making a final commitment."
QUESTION
"Do you have any plans or thoughts about pursuing your residency in Serbia after graduation?"
Option A
"Yes, I am definitely open to that possibility. During my six years of medical school here, I plan to learn the Serbian language fluently and adapt to the healthcare system. Completing my residency at a well-established hospital in Belgrade would be an incredible opportunity to continue my professional growth in an environment I am already familiar with."
Option B
"I want to keep an open mind at this stage. My priority is to successfully complete my medical education and clinical rotations here. However, since the University of Belgrade provides high-quality clinical training, staying in Serbia for residency is a very strong and attractive option for my career."
QUESTION
"Did you take a premed course, or did you prepare for the entrance exam on your own at home?"
Option A
"I prepared for the entrance exam on my own at home. I created a strict study schedule and carefully reviewed the university's biology and chemistry syllabus using standard textbooks and past papers. Preparing independently helped me develop strong self-discipline and time-management skills, which I know are essential for medical school."
Option B
"I took a premed course to prepare for the exam. The course was highly beneficial because it helped me strengthen my foundational knowledge in biology and chemistry while getting used to studying medical concepts in English. It provided me with a solid academic transition into a rigorous university environment."
QUESTION
"In your opinion, what is the biggest challenge facing the global healthcare system today?"
Option A
"In my opinion, the biggest challenge is the inequality in access to healthcare. While medical technology is advancing rapidly, millions of people in developing countries still lack access to basic medicine, clean water, and primary care. As a future doctor, I believe that global health security can only be achieved when quality medical care becomes a human right, not a privilege."
Option B
"I think the shortage and burnout of healthcare professionals worldwide is a massive challenge. The demands on medical systems are increasing due to aging populations and chronic diseases, but doctors and nurses are under extreme stress. We need to better support healthcare workers and invest more in preventive medicine to reduce the pressure on hospitals."
QUESTION
"For a physician, which is more important: empathy or sympathy?"
"In my opinion, empathy is much more important for a physician than sympathy. Empathy means understanding the patient’s pain and feelings from their perspective without losing your professional objectivity. Sympathy, however, means sharing the patient's emotional suffering, which can cloud a doctor's clinical judgment and lead to emotional burnout. A good doctor must be empathetic to connect with the patient, but remain objective to provide the best treatment."
QUESTION
"What is the importance of teamwork in medicine?"
In my opinion, teamwork is absolutely vital in medicine because healthcare is too complex for a single person to handle alone. A patient's treatment requires the collaboration of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and technicians. Good teamwork reduces medical errors, improves communication, and directly enhances patient safety. When everyone works together effectively, it creates a supportive environment where we can learn from each other and deliver the highest quality of care."
